The animal exhibition was closed in Greenwich after two months of operation due to violations.
The animal exhibition "Zoolandia," which operated for two months at the "Greenwich" shopping center in Yekaterinburg, was closed due to identified violations on Friday, March 20. This was reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region.
During the inspection, it was established that individual entrepreneur Vyacheslav Verpeta was conducting activities related to the maintenance and display of animals for cultural and entertainment purposes without the appropriate license.
As a result of the unscheduled inspection visit to the exhibition on March 20, a protocol on administrative violation was drawn up. The requirements of paragraph 54, part 1, article 12 of the Federal Law of May 4, 2011, No. 99-FZ "On Licensing Certain Types of Activities" were violated, which entails administrative responsibility under part 2 of article 8.53 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation.
The entrepreneur was issued a directive to eliminate the identified violations of veterinary and sanitary requirements, noted the Rosselkhoznadzor.
"The document contains a requirement to obtain a license for activities related to the handling of animals for cultural and entertainment purposes as soon as possible and to suspend the display of animals to visitors until the necessary permits are obtained," the supervisory agency's message states.
As reported by "Ъ-Ural," which studied the exhibition's website, it operates in Yekaterinburg from January 24 to May 3 at the "Greenwich" shopping center. The exhibition features parrots, snakes, lemurs, monkeys, kangaroos, flying foxes, and other exotic animals.
