A batch of sanctioned cheese weighing less than 10 kilograms was destroyed in the Chelyabinsk region, the Ural Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor reported the day before.
By the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated August 7, 2014, No. 778, a list of agricultural products, raw materials, and foodstuffs that are prohibited for import into the Russian Federation was approved, as well as a list of countries, the supervisory agency reminded.
This list of countries includes: the USA, EU countries, Canada, Australia, Norway, Ukraine, Albania, Montenegro, Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, the United Kingdom, and Northern Ireland.
According to the requirements of the legislation, products of a sanctioned nature are destroyed.
European-origin cheese was found with three sellers trading dairy products in the "Priisk" shopping complex in the city of Chelyabinsk. A total of about 9.7 kg of the product was seized.
