The number of fare evaders in public transport has decreased in Yekaterinburg.
The Deputy Director of the Transport Management Center (TMC) Igor Meny reported that the number of fare evaders in the city's public transport has decreased over the month.
— In February, 9,600 fare evaders were identified, and during the past month of March, their number has halved. This is due to the implementation of control measures, the introduction of new equipment, and an increase in the frequency of checks, the publication EAN quotes the official.
A total of 20 controllers are working in the city. They are organized into 9 teams of 2 people each, with 2 additional people on standby. Moreover, there are plans to further increase the staff. Controllers can check payments even when the internet is down. The terminal operates on a local network available in the transport.
Earlier, Yekaterinburg residents were informed about how to behave when controllers appear in public transport.
