Maternity wards in the salute style will appear in Yekaterinburg.

In Yekaterinburg, the maternity hospital is being modernized: GKB No. 40 will feature delivery rooms with a so-called salutogenic design — an approach where the space helps improve patients' well-being. As reported by the Deputy Governor and Minister of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region, Tatyana Savinova, the maternity hospital will close for scheduled disinfection in June. During this period, seven delivery rooms will be renovated. The opening of the updated department is expected in July.

Salutogenic design implies creating a comfortable, "non-hospital" atmosphere for women during childbirth. The rooms will be decorated in different themes — including forest, sea, ancient palace, and gardens. The concepts were developed by the regional Ministry of Health in collaboration with the company Sima-land. The space will affect all the senses — through visual design, sounds, and aromas.

Each room will be equipped with a separate bathroom, a bathtub, and a Swedish wall, as well as facilities for partner births. A similar format was previously tested in Pervouralsk — in the local inter-territorial perinatal center, updated rooms opened in February. The regional authorities plan to extend this practice to other cities in the region, including Nizhny Tagil, Krasnoturinsk, and Kamensk-Uralsky.
