Russians have halved the amount of pension they consider worthy over the year.

According to the average Russian, a decent pension should be 53,500 rubles per month. This was revealed in a survey conducted by SuperJob.

In Yekaterinburg, the average desired pension amount turned out to be 400 rubles higher than the national average—53,900 rubles.

Compared to October, citizens' claims have increased by 7%—back then, a decent pension was considered to be 49,100 rubles.

The most demanding regarding future payments are Russians over 45 years old: they consider a decent pension to be 56,200 rubles. Slightly more modest requests come from respondents aged 35-45 years (55,800 rubles). Young people under 35 are willing to settle for 50,800 rubles.

Having a higher education increases pension expectations: holders of university diplomas consider a decent amount to be 55,800 rubles, while respondents with secondary vocational education name an amount of 52,100 rubles.

Requests also grow in accordance with the level of current income— the higher it is, the more its holders would like to receive while on well-deserved rest.

The survey was conducted by the SuperJob service among the economically active population of 452 settlements from all federal districts of the country from February 4 to March 19, 2026.

It is noteworthy that the decent pension according to the results of the current survey is twice lower than it was according to the survey results from the Insurance House VSK, conducted at the end of the year before last. Back then, a pension amount of 110,000 rubles was considered "acceptable."

However, both past and current dreams are far from real figures. In February of this year, the average pension amounted to 23,538 rubles. For federal state civil servants, it averages 36,281 rubles. There are fewer than 100,000 such pensioners in Russia.
