The criminal case against the Isuzu driver who injured a biker from Yekaterinburg has been closed.
In Yekaterinburg, the criminal case against the driver of the Isuzu SUV, who hit motorcyclist Nadezhda Gugumberidze on Novomoskovsky Tract in August 2025, has been closed, reports "KP-Yekaterinburg."
After the incident involving 48-year-old Alexey Grom, a criminal case was initiated under part 1 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Traffic violation resulting in serious harm to health). In November, it became known that the man had changed from a suspect to a witness.
Recently, the criminal case was closed, reported the sister of the injured motorcyclist, Lyudmila. This information was confirmed to "KP-Yekaterinburg" by the official representative of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region, Valery Gorelykh. The investigation did not find any elements of a crime in the actions of the suspect, he explained.
The incident occurred on August 1 near the "Europe-Asia" stele, the publication reminds. The SUV driven by Grom collided with the motorcycle. The man claimed that the biker overtook him and then suddenly braked, and he could not prevent the collision.
The impact threw the woman into the guardrail; she sustained a traumatic brain injury, rib fractures, and an open fracture of her leg. Doctors had to remove her spleen, but they managed to save her intestine and the injured leg.
