The land in Yekaterinburg is wanted to be borrowed for Chinese factories.
For further development, the Aramil district will require expansion through the territories of Yekaterinburg and Sysert. This was stated by the head of the district, Marina Misharina, in an interview with "Kommersant-Ural." According to her, the existing areas are already insufficient—specifically, Chinese investors require plots of 10-30 hectares.
Currently, the administration is negotiating with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation to involve 50-60 hectares of unused land into circulation. However, this resource will only be enough to accommodate 3-4 enterprises, after which development may slow down.
The issue of expansion is planned to be resolved jointly with Yekaterinburg and the Sysert district, but not earlier than in 10 years—after the modernization of the worn-out communal infrastructure (the water supply is worn out by 60-70%, and the heating networks by 40-50%) and the demolition of abandoned facilities. At the same time, forested areas cannot be used for industrial construction—only for individual housing.
Marina Misharina also noted the efficiency of the Chinese housing and utilities system, including waste sorting and robotic recycling, and proposed to consider the creation of a joint venture for tire recycling.
