Forecasters warned of further rising water levels in the Sverdlovsk rivers.
In the Sverdlovsk region, over the past day, the water level in most rivers has risen by 5-50 centimeters, with the most noticeable increase occurring in the Turya River — 73 centimeters.
In the coming days, due to the precipitation, the water may continue to rise, warns the Ural Hydrometeorological Center. In some tributaries of the Chusovaya River, flood peaks have already formed. The water level there has exceeded the norm by 40 centimeters.
— The Sosva River in its middle course, as well as its tributaries — the Lobva and Kakva — have opened from ice 12-19 days earlier than usual. An ice jam has formed on the Kakva River, causing the water level to rise by another half a meter, writes Ura.Ru, citing meteorologists.
Currently, areas of the rivers: Pyshma, Nitsa, Irbit (a tributary of Nitsa), Mugai (a tributary of the Tagil River), Sylva, and Serebryanaya (a tributary of the Chusovaya) are already flooded. In the next two days, the water levels will continue to rise due to rain.
Earlier, the mayor of the Sverdlovsk city introduced a special regime due to flooding.
