On April 11, a 26-year-old resident of the city reported a theft to the duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Pervouralsky." According to the police, in February 2026, the man met a girl on Telegram. She introduced herself as Anna and said she lived in Italy. She then offered him to invest in cryptocurrency.
Following her instructions, the applicant registered on the platform and from February 20 to April 5 transferred 2,563,000 rubles from his bank card through various transactions. The funds were intended for placement in a personal account for earnings. The user saw the balance replenishment for the deposited amounts displayed in the platform's interface.
The key moment came on April 10. An email from the platform arrived in the man's inbox demanding a payment of 2,000 dollars to unlock the account. At that point, the applicant realized he had become a victim of fraudsters, the press group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Pervouralsky" reported.
