The first batch of blueberries from China was cleared by Ural customs officials.
The first batch of blueberries from China has arrived in Yekaterinburg, the press service of the Ural Customs Administration reported on Tuesday.
"This is the first shipment of blueberries from China. And, so to speak, a trial: if there is demand for this product, the importer will make similar shipments to the Urals regular," said Acting Head of the Ural Customs Administration Sergey Epifanov.
The weight of the berry batch was over 11 tons, with a value of more than 10 million rubles.
The berries have already passed customs and phytosanitary controls on a priority basis, as they are perishable goods. Blueberries will soon appear in stores in the Ural Federal District.
It should be noted that in June of last year, Uzbekistan made the first trial shipment of blueberries. At that time, the weight of the batch was 13 tons, and its value was over 9 million rubles.
Since this year, China has also begun supplying potatoes to Russia. However, according to an expert, the Russian root vegetable is richer in trace elements.
