A well-known lawyer in Yekaterinburg has been detained in a case involving the bribery of a witness for the other side.

      In Yekaterinburg, a well-known lawyer, Zhanna Kalegina, was detained in a case involving the bribery of a witness. This was reported by an informed source to "KP-Yekaterinburg."

      According to insider information from the publication, the lawyer, who is defending businessman Andrei Shevnin, was detained on charges of bribing a woman who is a key witness for the prosecution in this criminal case.

      Recall that Shevnin has been charged with the murder and rape of two 13-year-old girls, committed by him along with his uncle and a friend in the mid-nineties.

      Zhanna Kalegina is a well-known lawyer in the Ural capital. In particular, she defended in court the guardian Veronika Naumova, accused of murdering her 5-year-old ward, and then her husband, Aleksandr Naumov, who was accused of child abuse.

      The criminal case in which she is currently a suspect was initiated under Article 309 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, "Bribery or coercion to give testimony or to evade giving testimony or to give false testimony."

      In total, the witness was given 500,000 rubles, writes "KP-Yekaterinburg." As previously reported by "KP-Yekaterinburg," the witness was also raped by the accused at a young age and knew the murdered girls.

      Earlier, in the bribery case, the elder son of the accused, Mikhail Shevnin, the mistress Elena Miryugina, and lawyer Alexey Ryabtsev were detained. According to sources, it was he who testified against Kalegina.

      Although initially investigators considered her innocence, after conducting a confrontation with Shevnin Jr. and Ryabtsev, they became convinced of her involvement in the bribery of the witness. The Investigative Committee of Russia noted that Zhanna Kalegina would be charged soon.
