A resident of Sverdlovsk stole more than 50 million rubles during the purchase of lime.

The Revda City Court has sentenced one of the defendants in the case of embezzlement of more than 50 million rubles during the procurement of lime for the purification of mine waters. The accused, Andrei S., has been found guilty of large-scale fraud using his official position.

As established by the court, S. acted as part of an organized group, whose members systematically appropriated part of the budget funds allocated for the purchase of quicklime. The reagent was used to neutralize acidic mine waters as part of technological processes.

According to the investigation, the embezzlement scheme was based on artificially inflating the volumes of raw materials purchased in the documentation. At the same time, the actual deliveries of lime corresponded to the real needs of the enterprise. The difference between the amounts reported and the actual deliveries was distributed among the group members.

During the investigation, Andrei S. fully admitted his guilt, expressed remorse, and assisted the investigation in exposing other defendants in the case. In this regard, the materials were considered in a special procedure.

The court sentenced S. to four years of conditional imprisonment with a probation period of four years, as well as a fine of 500,000 rubles.

The civil claim in the case has been satisfied. Taking into account the partial compensation for damages, more than 48 million rubles have been recovered from the convicted individual. A property arrest has been maintained to ensure the execution of the sentence.

Criminal cases against the alleged accomplices continue to be considered in court.
