More than half of the graduates from Sverdlovsk have started choosing colleges instead of universities.
In the Sverdlovsk region, more and more school graduates are choosing vocational education instead of enrolling in universities. As reported by the Deputy Governor, Minister of Health Tatyana Savinova, for several years in a row, about 58% of graduates in the region do not go to higher education institutions. This was reported by the Department of Information Policy of the Sverdlovsk region.
According to Tatyana Savinova, colleges and technical schools in the region have significantly changed and become more focused on practical training. Today, there are 100 organizations for vocational education operating in the region.
Officials note that the availability of budget places is becoming an important factor in the choice of vocational education: more than 27,000 such places are planned for the region by 2026.
The role of the economy and the income level of graduates is also emphasized. According to Savinova, within the framework of the "Future of White Metallurgy" project in Pervouralsk, the average salary of graduates in technical specialties under targeted contracts can reach 120,000 rubles.
It is also noted that graduates of the "Professionalitet" programs are in high demand: 94% of them are already employed, with 43% working in their field of study.
