New details have emerged about the car accident that claimed the lives of a family on the Sverdlovsk highway.
In the Sverdlovsk region, the circumstances of a fatal traffic accident that occurred on May 31 on the second kilometer of the access road to Nizhnie Sergi are being investigated. As a result of the accident, four people died.
According to preliminary information from the State Traffic Inspectorate, the driver of a Volvo truck with a semi-trailer lost control after a front wheel burst. The truck veered into the oncoming lane, where it collided with a Land Rover vehicle. From the force of the impact, the SUV went off the road.
As reported by "KP-Ekaterinburg," at the scene of the incident, the driver of the passenger car, a 45-year-old woman, a 26-year-old man, and a 16-year-old teenager were killed. It later became known that the family lived in Berezovsky and was returning home after a vacation at their summer house.
The truck was driven by a 38-year-old resident of the village of Arti. Currently, an investigation into the accident is underway. The regional State Traffic Inspectorate reported that the driver had previously been held administratively liable 32 times for traffic violations. A medical examination showed that he was sober at the time of the accident.
Administrative materials have been drawn up against the man under Article 12.5.1 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation for operating a vehicle with a malfunction that prohibits its operation.
