Kindergarten teachers in Yekaterinburg are being transferred to teaching positions due to a shortage of children.
In Yekaterinburg, there is a shortage of children to fill kindergartens due to a decline in birth rates. This was reported by the Minister of Education of the Sverdlovsk Region, Svetlana Trenikhina, at the XVII Ural Demographic Forum.
According to her, the groups in kindergartens have emptied, leading to a staffing imbalance in kindergartens and schools. As a result, educators are being retrained as primary school teachers, the publication EAN writes.
The minister suggested changing the "reproductive attitudes of young people" by involving grandmothers in upbringing.
— We have raised a generation of 25-30-year-olds who choose careers and are in no hurry to have children. We need to work with potential grandmothers who instill such attitudes in children: first finish your education and get on your feet, — the minister stated.
It was previously reported that educators are refusing to work in the kindergartens of Akademicheskiy due to excessive workload.
