A 13-year-old biker caused a traffic accident near Yekaterinburg.
A 13-year-old teenager on a moped caused a traffic accident in the village of Beloyarsky. According to preliminary data, the 13-year-old moped driver violated traffic rules at an intersection of equal roads and failed to yield to a Toyota RAV4 driven by a 38-year-old driver. The car was approaching from the right and had the right of way. As a result, a collision occurred.
In the accident, a 15-year-old passenger on the moped was injured. He was taken to the City Children's Clinical Hospital No. 9 in Yekaterinburg with a leg injury, where he received the necessary medical assistance. The moped driver was not injured.
It has been established that the owner of the moped is the teenager's mother. The keys to the vehicle were readily accessible. According to the woman, her son went fishing with a friend, and after some time she learned about the accident that had occurred.
It is noted that at the time of the accident, the minor driver was wearing a motorcycle helmet, while his passenger was riding without a protective helmet, which may have affected the nature of the injuries sustained.
Police officers have drawn up administrative materials against the teenager's mother under part 3 of article 12.7 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (transfer of vehicle control to a person without driving rights) and under article 5.35 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (failure to fulfill parental responsibilities for raising a minor).
