In the Sverdlovsk region, a tractor driver was killed by a collision with a passing truck.
A fatal accident involving a truck and a tractor occurred the day before, on June 24, in the Talitsky district, as reported on Thursday by the State Traffic Inspectorate of Russia in the Sverdlovsk region.
The accident happened around 15:06 on the 224th kilometer of the Yekaterinburg - Tyumen highway.
According to preliminary data, the driver of the Volvo truck, a 51-year-old man, traveling from Tyumen towards Yekaterinburg, failed to maintain constant control of the vehicle and collided with the Belarus tractor, which was moving ahead in the same direction in the right lane.
As a result of the accident, both drivers were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. Subsequently, the tractor driver, a 53-year-old man, died from his injuries in a medical facility.
During the ongoing investigation, it was established that the truck driver, a resident of the village of Bulanash, has 17 years of driving experience. He had previously been held administratively responsible for traffic violations 52 (!) times.
An examination conducted at the Talitskaya Central District Hospital found no signs of intoxication. The man explained that he was driving in the far right lane and did not notice the tractor ahead.
The tractor driver, residing in the village of Troitsky in the Talitsky district, had 22 years of experience and had been held responsible for traffic violations 7 times during his entire period of operating vehicles.
