The new head of the Ordzhonikidzevsky district of Yekaterinburg has been appointed a security official again.
Maxim Chaplygin has been appointed the new head of the Ordzhonikidzevsky district of Yekaterinburg, reports "Ъ-Ural". The information was confirmed to the publication by the city administration.
Since 2023, Maxim Chaplygin has headed the department of consumer market and services in the Yekaterinburg administration. The announcement of Chaplygin's appointment as the head of the district was made by the city mayor Alexey Orlov at a city hall meeting.
The previous head of the Ordzhonikidzevsky district, Roman Kravchenko, resigned on April 30. The city administration did not extend his contract. Alexey Govorukha temporarily performed his duties, reports "Ъ-Ural".
Maxim Chaplygin led the reform of non-stationary trading facilities (NST), which caused significant public resonance. The goal was to conclude new contracts with entrepreneurs on a competitive basis. The reform was accompanied by the demolition of trading pavilions, many of which also served as bus stops.
The new head of the Ordzhonikidzevsky district graduated from the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and worked as an investigator until 2021. Before his appointment as head of the "consumer" department, he served as the deputy head of the administration of the Lenin district.
Notably, his predecessor Roman Kravchenko also previously served in the police.
The NST reform was announced back in 2020 by the then head of Yekaterinburg, now senator Alexander Vysokinsky. Over 5 years, by 2025, it was planned to remove 1,600 non-stationary trading facilities from the streets.
