The body of a teenager who drowned in the Iset River has been found.
In the Sverdlovsk region, the search for a 17-year-old boy who went missing while resting on the Iset River has concluded. The tragedy occurred near the village of Kodinka, close to Kamensk-Uralsky.
As reported by "KP-Ekaterinburg," the teenager came from the Tyumen region to visit a friend to celebrate her birthday. On the evening of July 4, a group of four people—the birthday girl, another girl, a young man, and a boy—went to relax by the river.
During swimming, the young man lost his footing and found himself in deep water. As previously reported by Valery Gorelykh, the head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk region, the teenager could not swim and was unable to get out of the water on his own. Attempts by his friends to save him were unsuccessful.
The current quickly swept the young man away. One of the girls called for help from a fisherman nearby, who immediately alerted the emergency services.
The search lasted for two days. The operation involved employees from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and volunteers. On the evening of July 6, rescuers found the teenager's body.
According to the press service of the Investigative Committee for the Sverdlovsk region, the body of the deceased was found at the dam, where it had been carried by the current.
In the last few hot days, there have been an extraordinarily high number of water-related tragedies in the Sverdlovsk region involving children.
