In Yekaterinburg, a mother used the court to deprive the father of the deceased participant in the special military operation of benefits.
In Yekaterinburg, the court sided with the mother who wanted to deprive the father of the payments for their son who died in the special military operation. The man had not been involved in raising the child for many years.
— The parents of the deceased were not married. The plaintiff insisted that the father had not participated in the son's life since his birth: he did not show interest in his academic achievements, did not congratulate him on holidays, did not visit educational institutions, and did not maintain an emotional connection with him, the press service of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court clarified.
The father claimed that he had seen the child. However, this happened no more than twice a year since the boy turned 8-9 years old. The man could not provide evidence that he had indeed participated in the child's life. In 1989, the father was ordered to pay child support, but he stopped transferring funds in December 1995. The man argued that he could claim payments for the deceased since he had not been deprived of parental rights. The court disagreed, noting that this measure is only granted to those parents who participated in raising the deceased. Thus, the father was deprived of payments, reports the publication "KP-Yekaterinburg." Earlier, we reported how a gang that was stealing payments from participants of the special military operation was arrested in the Sverdlovsk region.
