Sverdlovsk taxi drivers have started refusing long-distance trips.
Sverdlovsk taxi drivers have stopped accepting orders for long trips. It has become especially difficult to leave remote areas for Yekaterinburg.
A Yekaterinburg resident told the EAN publication that on July 14, she was unable to call a taxi through the "Yandex Go" app from a recreation center in the Sysert district, 50 kilometers from Yekaterinburg.
— We left there without any problems — a taxi in Yekaterinburg was assigned in two minutes, but no one took the order for the return trip. At first, the aggregator searched for available cars, then reported that there were none, suggested choosing another fare, but there were no cars available even at other fares. In the end, a local taxi came to the rescue, — noted the Ural resident.
One of the taxi drivers in Yekaterinburg suggested that this is related to fuel problems. According to him, some drivers are hesitant to take orders for long distances if they are unsure about the availability of gasoline at gas stations.
The press service of "Yandex Taxi" reported that the company does not observe a systemic increase in prices or an outflow of drivers due to the fuel situation.
— But in some cities where there are restrictions on fuel supply, drivers spend significantly more time at gas stations than usual. We understand that this complicates their work and reduces time on the line, so we are taking measures. We are negotiating with regional authorities and gas station networks to increase the fuel limit for taxis, — the company clarified.
Earlier, we reported that there was a shooting in the queue at a gas station in Chelyabinsk.
