A sixteen-year-old resident of Perm nearly paid with his life for a meeting that started online. The teenager decided to reach out to a girl from the Kemerovo region, with whom he had communicated for only a week, and for this, he climbed onto a freight train's coupling. His dangerous journey was interrupted by transport police in the Sverdlovsk region.
The young man was discovered late in the evening at the Sedyelnikov station in the Sysert urban district. The transport police were informed about the fare evader by the railway's departmental security staff. The teenager was removed from the freight train and taken to the police department at the Yekaterinburg-Passenger station.
As juvenile inspectors found out, the day before, his parents had left him at home to prepare for retaking exams while they went to their dacha. However, instead of studying, the teenager decided to head to the city of Belovo in the Kemerovo region, where the girl he met online lives.
The schoolboy had no money for a ticket, so he decided to cover nearly 2200 kilometers to his destination by riding on the coupling between the freight train cars. The journey began at the Perm-2 station. During a stop in Kungur, the teenager briefly got off to stretch his legs before climbing back onto the train. By the time he was detained, he had managed to cover over 400 kilometers.
His parents were completely unaware that their son had left home and embarked on such a dangerous trip. They were informed of the incident by the transport police. Later, the mother said that the teenager had never run away from home before and had not mentioned a new acquaintance from Siberia. The family, according to the police, is characterized positively.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the teenager for violating the rules of conduct on railway transport. His mother was also held administratively responsible for failing to fulfill her duties in raising a minor. Before the mother arrived, the young man was placed in a temporary detention center for juvenile offenders in Yekaterinburg.
