      At Koltsovo Airport, inspectors from the passenger customs post prevented the importation of Chinese cigarettes into Yekaterinburg. A passenger arriving on a flight from Beijing was stopped by customs officers in the "green" corridor. In his luggage, there were 11 blocks of cigarettes produced in China.

      The man explained that he bought the cigarettes, totaling 2,200 pieces, in Beijing for himself, with a supply for three months ahead.

      The approximate cost of one block was 11 yuan (127 rubles - note from Uralweb.ru).

      The passenger was unaware of the rules regarding the importation of tobacco products. As explained by the press service of the Ural Customs Administration, the rules are as follows.

      "According to customs regulations, one adult air passenger may bring into Russia for personal use tobacco products in quantities not exceeding 200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars (cigarillos), or 200 heated tobacco products ('sticks'), or 250 g of tobacco," reminded Sergey Bolshanin, acting head of the Koltsovo Airport (passenger) customs post.

      Administrative cases were initiated against the tourist under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia (non-declaration of goods) and under article 16.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to comply with prohibitions and restrictions on the importation of goods into the customs territory of the EAEU or into the Russian Federation).
