Yekaterinburg residents were warned about the dangers of fish and vegetables during the flood.

After the flood, crops from flooded gardens should not be consumed. All vegetables, fruits, and berries that have come into contact with floodwater must be disposed of, even if they appear fresh on the outside. This was stated by Oleg Lebedev, the deputy head of the Irbit territorial department of Rospotrebnadzor.

According to the specialist, it is impossible to disinfect such products at home. Floodwater can contain a huge number of pathogenic microorganisms, so attempts to disinfect the harvest pose too great a risk.

The expert also warned against consuming fish that died during the flood or ended up in flooded areas. It may also be contaminated with dangerous microorganisms.

Meanwhile, the flood situation in the Sverdlovsk region remains tense. Despite the absence of rain, new flooding is possible in the region due to ongoing water discharges at hydraulic structures, reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region.
