A court in Yekaterinburg sentenced a teenager who burned a Utair helicopter to 8 years in prison.

      The Central District Military Court issued a verdict in Yekaterinburg against a teenager from Noyabrsk (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug) who set fire to a helicopter on the orders of Ukrainian special services. This was reported on Thursday by the UralLIVE channel.

      "Ukrainian curators promised 'mommy's terrorists' through Telegram to pay 4 million rubles for the dirty work. Of course, the underage scoundrels did not receive any money," UralLIVE writes.

      In 2024, 13 and 14-year-old schoolboys set fire to a civilian Mi-8 helicopter of Utair at Noyabrsk airport.

      To carry out the terrorist act, they used bottles filled with gasoline. The helicopter is beyond repair, and the damage amounted to 59 million rubles.

      In addition, they also set fire to a communication tower in the industrial zone of Noyabrsk.

      The older of the minor terrorists was sent by the Central Military District Court to a correctional colony for eight years.

      His 13-year-old accomplice has not reached the age of criminal responsibility, but the investigation managed to place him in a closed-type educational institution.

      Earlier, the court fined the airport security guard who left his post without permission on the night of the arson, as well as a local resident who knew about the impending terrorist act but did not report it.
