The former head of the prison hospital has been convicted in the Urals for accepting bribes from inmates.
The Metallurgical District Court of the southern Ural capital has sentenced former head of the specialized tuberculosis hospital No. 3 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Chelyabinsk region, Yevgeny Arkhipov, reports the EAN agency.
Yevgeny Arkhipov was detained in November by FSB officers.
It has been established that for providing leniencies in the detention regime, as well as assisting them in early conditional release, the defendant received bribes from inmates in the form of a television and construction materials.
The court sentenced him to 5 years in a general regime colony and a fine of 450,000 rubles. Arkhipov was also stripped of the title of "Lieutenant Colonel of Internal Service."
