Previously, it was extremely rare to encounter them in our region. However, recently they have been spotted in areas where they were not seen before - in the Orenburg, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Saratov, Kurgan, and Sverdlovsk regions.
Black widows are dangerous due to their bites, and it is crucial to act quickly. In the first seconds after the bite, the area should be cauterized with a match or lighter, as this will destroy the venom, and then one should urgently seek medical attention. Meanwhile, in the south of the country, they are already actively attacking people - more than 10 individuals have been affected.
