Five paddleboards capsized during the rafting on the Iset River on July 22 near the village of Malaya Kodinka, near Kamensk-Uralsky.
One of the paddleboards had a family on it - parents and two children aged 9 and 13. Everyone except the father was wearing life jackets, notes EAN.
The current swept the people away, but the woman and children were washed ashore, and bystanders helped them. The head of the family drowned.
At the end of June, a tourist was swept away by the raging water while rafting on a paddleboard on the Ai River in the Chelyabinsk region as part of a group. The thirty-five-year-old woman fell into the water and was carried away by the current. After two days, the search for the missing woman, which yielded no results, was suspended. A witness who observed a group of paddleboarders in the specified area that day told "KP-Chelyabinsk" that he did not notice any life jackets on them.
