In honor of City Day, the project "Summer in the Square" invites the residents of Yekaterinburg on August 1 to a padel tournament. Everyone can become part of this large sports celebration, regardless of their skill level, the organizers report.
Participants will compete on modern courts right in the city center. If the weather holds up (playing in the rain is not possible for safety reasons), the tournaments will take place from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The following categories are available for participants:
Beginners - for those who are picking up a racket for the first time.
Amateurs - for those who have already mastered the basics of the game.
Pros - for experienced players ready for serious competition.
You can register in any of the categories on the website летонаплощади.рф.
Participation in the tournament is free, with no entry fee. You can bring your own rackets and balls, or rent them on-site. Winners will receive commemorative medals and pleasant gifts from project partners.
Some of the courts are already ready: they are being installed on a special foundation to preserve the historic cobblestones of the square. The bright artificial grass surface not only pleases the eye but also ensures the correct bounce of the ball.
Next to the courts, there are comfortable changing rooms, relaxation areas, and a food court.
The general partner of the "Summer in the Square" project and the padel tournament is the developer "Praktika."
Padel is a dynamic sport that combines elements of tennis and squash.
Festive events for City Day will begin in Yekaterinburg on Friday, July 31. The decision to move City Day from the third to the first Saturday in August was made in May. Throughout the festive weekend, the sale of alcohol will be restricted in the center of the Ural capital (and beyond).
