The debtor from the federal wanted list was detained at the Yekaterinburg train station using biometric cameras.

      At the Yekaterinburg railway station, transport police detained a 24-year-old local resident who was wanted at the federal level for failing to fulfill obligations related to the repayment of a large debt. This was reported on Friday by the press service of the Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Ural Federal District.

      Operatives established that the 24-year-old Yekaterinburg resident had taken out a targeted brokerage loan secured by real estate in Moscow for a total amount of 23,841,000 rubles, but failed to meet the repayment obligations. In June 2025, the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Western Administrative Okrug of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow initiated a criminal case against the Ural resident under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud on a particularly large scale").

      Investigators repeatedly summoned the suspect, but the man did not appear for questioning and was declared wanted on November 26, 2025.

      The fugitive evaded capital investigators for eight months but could not bypass the biometric identification systems installed at the railway station in Yekaterinburg.

      On Thursday, July 30, 2026, they identified a man whose appearance matched the description from the alert received from the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Western Administrative Okrug. Information about the discovery of the wanted person was automatically sent to the duty unit of the Local Internal Affairs Department at the Yekaterinburg-Passenger station, after which the officers of the Patrol and Post Service immediately went to the scene and detained the citizen on the first floor of the station complex.

      The man was taken to the linear department for clarification of the circumstances. The detainee explained that he had come to the station to see off a relative. He was aware that he was wanted but hoped to remain unrecognized.

      The officers of the Local Internal Affairs Department notified the initiator of the search and had already handed over the detained individual to him. It was previously reported that payment terminals installed in ordinary grocery stores can deduct money literally from a person's face even without their knowledge.
