In the Sverdlovsk village, chemotherapy for cancer patients has been discontinued.
The Sverdlovsk Regional Oncology Dispensary commented on media reports about the alleged deterioration in the availability of chemotherapy assistance for residents of the village of Arti. The medical institution stated that treatment is provided in accordance with federal requirements, and patients receive the necessary assistance in full.
The chief physician of the oncology dispensary, Evgeny Kiselev, explained that according to the order of the Ministry of Health of Russia, anti-tumor drug therapy should be conducted only in outpatient oncology care centers or in oncology dispensaries. This is due to the need for constant patient monitoring, the presence of specialized personnel, and a complete set of necessary medications.
According to Kiselev, conducting chemotherapy in the district hospital of Arti did not comply with current federal standards. Such a violation, as noted by the dispensary, was identified during a scheduled inspection by specialists from the National Medical Research Center of Oncology named after N.N. Blokhin, which oversees the oncology service in the region.
Currently, four residents of the village of Arti are undergoing drug therapy. Transportation has been organized for them to the nearest outpatient oncology care center in Krasnoufimsk, where patients receive treatment in accordance with established requirements.
