A Russian was fined 150,000 for hogweed for the first time.
In the Moscow region, a landowner was fined for the growth of Sosnowski's hogweed for the first time as a result of digital monitoring. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The violation was detected as part of a pilot project using drone imaging and artificial intelligence technologies that analyzed the collected data. After processing the information, the system automatically generated a fine notice and sent a notification to the owner through the State Services portal.
A legal entity—the owner of the land plot in the Ruza municipal district—was held accountable. The fine amounted to 150,000 rubles. This is the first such case in the Moscow region where sanctions were applied based on digital monitoring using AI.
Plants that can no longer be grown in the Sverdlovsk region have been named.
