In Yekaterinburg, a driver of a rental electric scooter hit a 10-year-old boy on the sidewalk. The accident occurred on August 7 at around 14:20 on Lenin Street near house No. 17.
According to preliminary data from the State Traffic Inspectorate, a 42-year-old local resident, while operating the electric scooter, failed to maintain constant control over the movement and did not exercise due caution. As a result, he ran over the child, who was on the sidewalk with his mother.
The boy sustained injuries. An ambulance crew took him to the Children's City Clinical Hospital No. 9 in Yekaterinburg.
At the scene of the incident, traffic inspectors conducted an inspection, interviewed witnesses, and identified the participants in the accident. The police are conducting an investigation into the accident.
