"A nervous breakdown occurred." The assailant who beat a participant of the special military operation in Revda asked not to be sent to a pre-trial detention center.
On August 11, 2026, a measure of restraint is being chosen today for Revda resident Anton Cherkasov for attacking SVO veteran Alexei, reports "Channel 4." The man asked the court not to place him in custody.
The attacker admitted his guilt and publicly apologized to SVO participant Alexei and his family, according to "Channel 4" from the courtroom.
"I would like to apologize to Alexei once again in front of people. Please forgive me. I admit my guilt. ... I am very ashamed in front of everyone — in front of Alexei, his family, combat comrades, and in front of Russians," stated Cherkasov, who has been convicted multiple times before. The victim participated in several military conflicts and suffered concussions.
Other veterans of the special operation came to support the victim Alexei in Revda today — several people from Berezovsky, Yekaterinburg, and other cities in the Sverdlovsk region, reports "Channel 4."
The defendant told his version of events: allegedly, the girl for whom Alexei intervened was not against Anton's advances.
"I lost control of my emotions, I had a nervous breakdown," he explained, which is why he became enraged at the disabled person who defended the girl.
In court, it was mentioned that defendant Cherkasov helps his sick mother and supports his ex-wife and child. His current common-law wife is now in her fourth month of pregnancy. The man asked the court not to place him in custody.
As the victim told "Channel 4," after the attack by 37-year-old Cherkasov, he lay immobile for four days. He had a broken head, severe bruises, and hematomas.
"He kicked me under the throat with his feet. Once he kicked — everything was torn. Constant mockery, humiliation. He constantly referred to me in the feminine gender. This is beyond any limits. He apologized, and then came back several times and kicked me on my injured legs — I have two legs that were operated on," Alexei recounted.
