A young repeat offender was detained in Yekaterinburg for attacking his own mother.
In Yekaterinburg, police from department No. 9 detained a 29-year-old local resident on suspicion of robbery. He attacked his 53-year-old mother. This was reported by the press group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yekaterinburg.
According to the investigation, the man demanded gold jewelry from the woman. After she refused, he began to strangle her and threatened to kill her. Ultimately, the woman gave him a gold ring—the perpetrator pawned it. The damage was estimated at 20,000 rubles.
It turned out that the suspect has an addiction, which is why he constantly needs money. He has previously been repeatedly held criminally liable for theft, robbery, and causing harm to health, including serious harm. During questioning, the detainee denied everything and claimed that the ring was given to him voluntarily.
A criminal case has been initiated under the article "Robbery committed with the use of violence dangerous to life and health." The suspect faces up to eight years in prison.
Earlier in Yekaterinburg, police were accused of beating a woman.
