A bear and a reed cat have arrived in Koltsovo.
The Tien Shan brown bear and the reed cat have arrived from the Dushanbe zoo to Yekaterinburg. The animals were processed for permanent residence by the staff of the Koltsovo Airport customs post.
According to the Yekaterinburg zoo, the new inhabitants are expected to form pairs with the females already living here. During the flight, the necessary temperature—above +5 °C—was maintained for the animals, and air exchange was ensured. While the customs officers were processing the documents, the bear and the cat were fed.
After arrival, the animals will undergo mandatory quarantine, so visitors will not see them for now. The zoo reported that they plan to introduce the new inhabitants to the females after their adaptation.
