The gasoline shortage in the Sverdlovsk region has led to another problem.
Volunteers of the search and rescue team "LizaAlert" in the Sverdlovsk region are facing serious problems due to a lack of gasoline. The fuel shortage complicates outings to search for missing people, the team reported.
Most search operations take place in forests far from major cities. Volunteers have to cover dozens and even hundreds of kilometers, and then refuel cars and ATVs. In the last two weeks, according to regional representative of "LizaAlert" Ilya Lukinsky, the situation with fuel has sharply worsened.
— There are two options: either stand in line for four hours or refuel at very expensive gas stations. At the same time, the volunteers of "LizaAlert" do not receive funding and cover all expenses, including gasoline, themselves, Lukinsky told EAN.
Only in August, search requests came from the areas of Nizhny Tagil, Kamensk-Uralsky, Revd, Polevskoy, Talitsa, Kushva, and Verkhnyaya Salda. A large amount of fuel is required for trips to remote forest areas. In addition, ATVs are used in almost every search.
"LizaAlert" emphasized that delays during searches can cost a person's life.
Searchers appealed to the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Denis Pasler and gas station networks with a request to organize the possibility for the team's vehicles to refuel out of turn.
