Funeral of the 38-year-old brutally murdered taxi driver took place in Yekaterinburg.
Today at 3:30 PM at the Western Cemetery of Ekaterinburg (on Shuvakishskaya), relatives and close friends farewelled 38-year-old Ekaterina, who was brutally murdered by a random acquaintance, Andrey Martyushev, in her car. E1.RU reports on the farewell ceremony.
The farewell took place in a chapel at the cemetery. Only close family members attended the funeral service, including her grandmother and 11-year-old daughter Vika. Friends of Ekaterina embraced the disabled childhood girl.
"See, Mom is sleeping. Put your hand on her, Mom will feel it, she knows you're here," said Ekaterina’s mother, crying over the coffin, to her granddaughter.
The murderer disfigured Ekaterina’s face, but she was buried in an open coffin — her family wanted to see her one last time.
"Katya, let's go home. I want to be with you, Katya, take me with you. It's good they opened the coffin, at least I saw you, my dear. I never thought I’d see you like this, I don’t believe it, I don’t believe it’s you," sobbed Ekaterina’s grandmother.
According to the mother of the deceased, the funeral will cost approximately 350,000 rubles. The portal E1.RU has posted an account number where donations can be sent to help the family of the murdered woman, who are in great need of financial support after her death.
