It has been revealed where the 36-year-old karate coach from Berezovsky was killed.
Today at 16:13, investigators established the circumstances of the murder of 36-year-old Beryozovsky resident Alena Papst. The crime is attributed to her husband, 41-year-old Andrey Papst. The spouses worked together—teaching children karate in a sports club.
According to the Sverdlovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the cause of Alena Papst's death was mechanical asphyxia (strangulation). The murder was committed on July 28th (the day when, after a car accident involving the couple's electric car, law enforcement officials found Alena's body on the passenger seat) near the couple's private house in the Shilovka settlement of Beryozovsky Urban District, in a forested area.
According to the investigation, Andrey Papst, out of personal resentment, beat and then killed his wife.
After the murder, he changed clothes, arrived at the scene of the crime in a car into which he had placed his wife's body, and then headed towards the town of Beryozovsky, where he was involved in a traffic accident by leaving the road and colliding with a utility pole.
On Thursday, July 31st, the court chose a measure of pre-trial detention for Andrey Papst for two months, until September 29th. Farewell to Alena Papst is taking place in Beryozovsky today, August 1st. The couple left behind two children.
