The gymnast underwent rehabilitation at the Ural sanatorium "Lipovka," where she practiced on stability platforms to restore coordination, working on deep muscles and ligaments. She used a spinal traction device, mechanical therapy trainers, and received radon baths that reduce inflammation and pain.
— Such incidents happen in sports: a simple element, with a technique refined over 30 years to perfection, resulted in a fracture. After three months in a rigid orthosis, muscle atrophy appeared: the calf muscles seemed almost absent — just "skin and bones." My broken leg is reactive, it's the starting point for each athletic element. I understood that if I didn't rehab properly, I would have to end my sports career, — Kozlova is quoted by the press service of the department.
After rehabilitation, Maria returned to her profession and is now working with children again.
