Today at 3:00 PM. Retail chains are not accepting vegetables grown by Sverdlovsk farmers for sale. This issue was shared with the YAN agency by farmer Mikhail Shklyar from Sysert, who has been growing honeysuckle, gooseberries, and fruit and vegetable crops since 2014.
According to Mikhail, in 2022 he offered a batch of zucchinis to the chains, but was refused. This year, the "retailers" themselves asked him to grow a specific variety — dark green zucchinis.
“I bought the seeds — planted them. In the end, when I went to deliver the vegetables, they didn’t accept the car,” the farmer said. The refusal was justified by claiming that the batch allegedly contained many defects. But when Mikhail demanded that the representatives show him where the defects were, they referred to a decision by colleagues, saying that nothing could be done anymore — the refusal stands.
“It feels like the 'zucchini mafia' is working among the retail chains — they only accept from their own,” Shklyar noted ironically in a conversation with YAN.
