The Kirovsky District Court sentenced the swimming coach of the "Victoria" school, Alexander Zyryanov, to 12.5 years in a maximum-security penal colony for molesting a female trainee. The man was detained in March 2024.
In a statement the schoolgirl said she was molested from 2019 to 2024 during training sessions, and also at competitions in Serov, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Astrakhan, Anapa, Saransk and in Kyrgyzstan. The investigation established 34 criminal incidents under the charge of "violent sexual acts."
A voice recording made by Zyryanov himself was examined in court.
"On the recording my daughter says that 'she cannot give the kind of tenderness he wants.' He replies: 'Are you sure that will be with me?' It's not hard to guess what that's about.
