A Mercedes‑Benz driver was sent to a police holding cell in the Urals for refusing to comply with an order from the traffic police.
In Nevyansk, a court sent a local resident to administrative detention in a special facility after he failed to comply with an order to remove the tint from his Mercedes‑Benz sedan.
He was ordered in June this year to bring the light transmittance of the front side windows of his Mercedes‑Benz E200 into compliance with the requirements of the technical regulations, the press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk Region reported.
“However, the deficiencies were not corrected, and in August the conspicuous car with tinted windows was again stopped by traffic police officers. A report was filed against Tegmur for disobeying a lawful order of a police officer,” the press service said.
At the court hearing the defense asked that attention be paid to the fact that his client had complied with the requirement, and that the non‑compliant tint film had been reapplied by “friends as a gift to his father for his jubilee.”
However, the Nevyansk City Court found these arguments untenable and found Radzhov guilty under Part 1 of Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (Failure to comply with a lawful order of a police officer), sentencing him to administrative arrest for 13 days.
The ruling has not entered into legal force and may be appealed to the Sverdlovsk Regional Court.
