Parents told how their children died in a horrific fire in a village in Sverdlovsk Oblast.
The parents of three children who died in a fire at a dacha settlement near Loginovo shared details of the tragedy. The fire broke out in the middle of the night while the whole family was asleep.
“I woke up to the smell of smoke and woke my husband. I ran to the room where my daughter and the baby were sleeping. She managed to climb out through the window, but after that I could no longer get through — everything was on fire. My husband opened the window, and the flames flared up even more. Three children remained on the second floor. He managed to pull two out, but three more remained inside... They died,” the mother, Anna, told E1.
The family moved to this house from Yekaterinburg four years ago. Anna had long dreamed of having her own farm, so the couple sold their apartment in the city and got chickens and goats. After the fire, only ruins remained of the two-story building.
“There was an entryway here, a toilet, a washing machine. I was breaking out a window and pulling the children through it. I thought: better that they get injured than that they die in the fire or suffocate. But I couldn't save three of them. My wife was already outside with the youngest child,” recalls the father, Anatoly.
“I smelled smoke, woke my husband, and rushed after my daughter and the baby. She managed to get out, but after that the way was cut off,” Anna added.
The family built this small house with their last savings. Now they have nowhere to live.
