In Akademichesky, a young man stole a car and rammed several others.
Police detained a young man who stole a VAZ-2104 in the Akademichesky district and caused an accident. He turned out to be 25-year-old Evgeny Yudin, who lived nearby on Mikheeva Street. He had previously been convicted of vehicle theft and other thefts.
Before the theft the man had been drinking with friends, and then decided to go with a friend to a nightclub in Pervouralsk.
When his friends went outside, he noticed an unlocked car in the yard and suggested they drive it to the nightclub in the neighboring city. In the yard the intoxicated driver lost control and collided with parked cars; on the way out of town the damaged car’s timing belt snapped, causing it to stop. The hapless car thieves had to get to Pervouralsk by taxi, the press service of the Yekaterinburg police department (UMVD) reported.
The owner of the car contacted the police. The man said he had been awake and happened to hear the sound of a car engine from the street. When he went out onto his balcony he saw his car being driven out of the yard, E1.RU reports.
Earlier we reported that five cars had collided on Malysheva Street.
