In Yekaterinburg a local resident has been charged with a murder committed in previous years, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region reports.
On the night of May 25, 2013, in Yekaterinburg, near one of the houses on Sibirsky Trakt Street, the accused, according to the investigation, together with a number of other persons involved, beat another local resident over a minor matter. The victim suffered a traumatic brain injury and died as a result.
The perpetrators fled the scene. In the course of a thorough analysis of information obtained earlier during the investigation, as well as through repeated interviews of witnesses, the involvement of the suspect was established. He was 23 years old at the time the crime was committed.
A set of procedural actions is ongoing to identify the accused’s accomplices, determine all the circumstances of the crime, and collect and preserve evidence.
The court has already remanded the accused in custody.
