Repair work on an important bridge on the Chelyabinsk Trakt will begin.
A major overhaul will be carried out on an 80-meter reinforced-concrete bridge on the federal M-5 "Ural" highway (Chelyabinsk Trakt). The structure is located at the southern Sysert interchange, in the area of the 158th kilometer of the exit from Sysert.
Uralupravtodor has announced a tender to select a contractor. The contract is worth 142 million rubles. With these funds it is planned to restore the embankments and bridge spans, upgrade the drainage system and waterproofing, lay a new asphalt surface, and replace the safety barriers and handrails.
According to the project, all work must be completed no later than November 15, 2026. Drivers were warned that traffic will most likely be restricted during the repairs.
"Traffic management schemes will be presented after the contractor is selected," Uralupravtodor clarified.
In Yekaterinburg a busy street will be closed for a month. In Yekaterinburg four tram routes will be changed due to rail repairs.
