In Yekaterinburg a seventh-grader "lost in a lottery" that scammers had lured her into more than 300,000 rubles from her father's bank card. This was reported by the press group of the Yekaterinburg police department.
Police said scammers contacted the 14-year-old girl and offered her the chance to play a lottery. The girl followed a link and found out she had won 10,000 rubles. The scammers told the seventh-grader that, as a minor, the winnings could not be transferred to her. She was asked to provide her father's card details so they could send the money. The schoolgirl gave the card details and the SMS code. Then 264,000 rubles were withdrawn from the father's card, and a 60,000-ruble loan was also taken out.
Police opened a criminal case under the charge "Theft from a bank account," EAN reports.
Earlier a Yekaterinburg resident left a Moscow pensioner without 28 million rubles and her apartment.
