The Revda prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation in connection with a fire in a private house in Degtyarsk in which a child was injured. The girl suffered severe burns.
The fire occurred on Friday, September 19. A report of a fire at a private residential house on Krylova Street in Degtyarsk was received by the emergency services’ dispatch center at about 09:40.
“At the time of the fire, two underage children were in the house. They attend school in the second shift, so they were at home at that time. One child managed to run out. The injured child was a girl, born in 2015,” the Sverdlovsk regional prosecutor’s office reports.
The injured child was taken to hospital with thermal burns covering 87% of her body surface.
According to initial information, the large family in which the children are being raised was not registered with social services. The exact cause of the fire will be established by a fire-technical examination. The prosecutor’s office has taken the preliminary inquiry under its control.
