A branch of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts has ceased operations in Yekaterinburg, Interfax reports.
The museum’s press service called the exhibition season at the former Builders’ Club (CITY Center), where the branch moved less than six months ago from its previously rented premises, "a long farewell."
In May, the Pushkin Museum announced that its Ural, Baltic and North Caucasus branches would cease operations by 2026. The decision was attributed to a reassessment of the Pushkin Museum’s development strategy and the creation of a new institution to work with contemporary art on its basis.
Previously, the Pushkin Museum’s branch in Yekaterinburg was known as the State Center for Contemporary Art.
